You're barking up the right tree.
Q: How does SNIF Labs ensure my privacy?
A: At SNIF Labs, your privacy is our priority. The SNIF Tag web portal is a secure site. YouÕre in control of how much information about you is displayed and who can see it. At any time, you can add, remove, or change the visibility privileges for other users.
Q: Can I monitor my dog from work?
A: Yes. In fact, when your dog is near a SNIF Tag base station, you can monitor his activities in real time anywhere you have Web access.
Q: Can I help test your product?
A: If you live in the Boston or New York City area and would like to be a
SNIF Tag tester, please fill out our
Beta Testers form.
Q: When and where can I buy a SNIF Tag?
A: A limited number of
SNIF Tag systems will be available through select retail outlets in Boston and New York City beginning in the Spring of 2008. Of course, you can also pre-order your
SNIF Tag to ensure youÕre first in line.

Q: Does the SNIF Tag use the Global Positioning Satellite system (GPS)?
A:No. GPS transceivers are bulky, require lots of power, and are prohibitively expensive. The SNIF Tag does not pinpoint the geographic location of your pet.
Q: How does the SNIF Tag know what my dog is doing?
A: The SNIF Tag uses high resolution motion and force sensing technology along with proprietary software to analyze your dog's movements and deduce activities.
Q:How does the SNIF Tag know when my dog has seen other dogs?
A: The SNIF Tag uses a special radio protocol to communicate with other Tags. When two SNIF Dogs are within close range of one another, the Tags automatically swap unique identifying codes, recording the meeting and relaying the codes to the SNIF portal when the dogs return to their base stations.
Q: Does your product use Radio Frequency ID tags (RFID)?
A: No. The SNIF technology is based on radio protocols rather than the simpler, one-way communication of RFID chips.
Q: Can't strangers track me if my dog is wearing a SNIF Tag?
A: No. The SNIF Tag protects your privacy by constantly changing its identifying radio codes, unlike the static ID broadcasts of RFID Chips. It is impossible for a stranger to track you or your dog when you use SNIF technology.
Q: Can the SNIF Tag help me and my vet to monitor my dog's fitness?
A: There are a number of ways you can use the SNIF Tag to track your dog's fitness. Members can give their vet permission to view their dog's activity profile and history online. Your vet may use information from the SNIF Tag to augment his/her knowledge of your dog.
Q: Can the SNIF Tag be configured to send me an email or SMS message when my dog is acting strangely?
A: Yes, you can optionally configure your SNIF Tag to notify you by Instant Message, SMS, or email if your dog is acting unusually.
Q: Will there be a way for software developers to add new services for the SNIF Tag?
A: Yes, we will be publishing a full API (application programming interface) for our product so that other websites can offer services for SNIF Tag owners.
